Obituary of Raymond J. McMahon, Jr.

Ray J. McMahon, age 85, died July 29, 2022 at home, with the love of his life for 66 years, Marjorie, and son Daniel, at his side.  Ray was born January 13, 1937 in St. Paul.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dan and Brian.  Survived by his wife Marjorie and their seven children:  Jean (Bob Deck), Monnie (Todd Danielson), Dan, Bill (Monica), Joe, Tom (Lanita) and Judi Hondel (James).  He is also survived by 15 grandchildren:  Cullen (Amy Jo) and Grace Deck, Emily Hause (Eli Schwartz), Taylor and Tessa Danielson, Colleen McMahon, Karen West (Zach), Melissa Evamois (Zig), Cailin, Allison and Gavin McMahon, Rich, Chris and Shane Salsbury, and Jordyn Hondel, along with 9 great-grandchildren: Gabriel and  Quentin McMahon,  Fallon McMahon-Shull, Amelia and Henry Deck, Parker West, Olivia Salsbury, Thorvi Knighten, and Ruthie Schwartz.  Also survived by brothers Gene and Dick and sisters Marian Turley and Patty Micko.  Ray was a 32-year veteran of St. Paul Companies and 23-year employee of Alaska National Insurance in Anchorage. Ray and Marjorie travelled extensively throughout the US, Europe, Mexico and Japan and enjoyed golf and vacationing in Kauai.  In his later years, Ray relished fishing and spending time with kids, grandkids and friends at the lake cabin, and was an avid reader.  We will miss his hugs, easy laugh, and quick dry wit. 

Visitation 4-8 pm Monday, August 8th and 10-11am Tuesday, August 9th at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 235 Wentworth Avenue West, West St. Paul, MN 55118. Funeral Service 11am Tuesday, August 9th at Willwerscheid Funeral Home,235 Wentworth Avenue West, West St. Paul, MN 55118. Interment Oakland Cemetery, 927 Jackson Street, St. Paul, MN 55117. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
